SMS Students Win 2nd Place in International Competition
Safford Middle School students, recently won second place in the International KC3 ~ Kids Creating Community Content Videoconferencing Competition, Returning Middle School Division.
The students were involved in every aspect of the research, creation and broadcast of their original program titled “Copper is Our Star”. Through the school’s videoconferencing, the students connected with a class in Victor, Montana and shared what they had discovered about the importance of copper to our state and local area. The students were able to share this unique virtual tour from our school using interactive videoconferencing technology.
Mrs. Arrington facilitated a student team comprised of Tyler Crohn, Summer Dahlquist-Tookey, Emily Eaton, Mariah Gherna, Yenica Gil Ayala, Crystal Haase, Trinity Langston, Monica Larez, Charlotte Peterson, Cameron Rios, Alexis Ronning, Quentin Sanchez, Sabian Shupe, Hallie Skinner, Taylor Swapp, Brianna Varnam, Jozabelle Verhelst, Estefana Villalba, and Ryan Wilson.
