|Community Input For Evaluation of Arizona State Standards|
Parents and community members are invited to voice their feeling regarding the new AZ State Standards which are under evaluation at the state level for potential revision. Please use the link below to share your thoughts at the state level.
Arizona’s Governor, Doug Ducey, requested the establishment of a committee to review and replace the Arizona Mathematics Standards and English Language Arts Standards through the Arizona Board of Education. This committee is comprised of 17 members consisting of teachers, university/college professors, an elected school board member, parents, school administrators, business owners, AZ Board of Education members, charter school representatives, and our State Superintendent of Public Education, Diane Douglas.
In our last meeting, the committee established two sub-committees. These sub-committees will dive into the details of both the Mathematics and English Language Arts standards by grade level. As part of the process, we will be soliciting input you’re your families. We want to know how the current standards are affecting your School District’s families, but most of all… our students. We need to know what is not working, and what needs to be replaced, changed, or reinforced.
The Arizona Board of Education has developed a web site Parent Portal for your convenience and access. It has been activated for you to make comments on the State’s currently approved Common Core aligned English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics standards.
Our parent's comments are crucial to ensure that their comments are heard. This committee wants to ensure that the end result will become what our Governor has stated, "Arizona Standards that are written by Arizonans which are 'high quality' and that the rest of the Nation will look up to."
The comment period is open until October 22nd.

Also, students should go home right after dismissal after school, at 2:58, unless they have practice, games or need to be in a teacher's classroom. We appreciate your child's and your cooperation.

TAX CREDIT DONATIONS|
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents, community members, and staff who so generously made a tax credit contribution to our school during the year. Your generosity has made it possible for our students to upgrade sports uniforms and equipment. Some of our students will also be able to take field trips that they otherwise could not go on if it weren't for the kind people of this community.
You can come in any time during the year to make your contribution. You can donate up to $400 if you file a joint return, or $200 if you file single. Remember that you get back every dollar that you contribute at the time you file your state income tax. When you make a tax credit donation, not only does the school benefit, but you benefit also. Keep in mind that you determine which school activity gets your donation. To make it as simple as possible for you, the forms for making your donation are available in all school offices or at the administration office.
