The public is welcome and encouraged to attend Governing Board meetings. The Board usually meets the second Thursday of each month and all meeting dates are posted on the calendar.
The Governing Board is composed of five district residents, each elected to four-year terms. Members serve without pay. The Board is responsible for educational policies and financial plans for the district, within community resources. There are six schools in the district -- Dorothy Stinson School, Lafe Nelson School, Ruth Powell School, Safford Middle School, Mt. Graham High School, and Safford High School.

Mr. Mike DeLaO, Governing Board President
Mr. DeLaO is a graduate of Safford High School and has served on the Governing Board for fourteen years. For thirteen of the fourteen years of service he has been the Governing Board President. He is employed as Game Management Director at Eastern Arizona College.

Mrs. Julie Cluff, Governing Board Member
Mrs. Cluff is also a graduate of Safford High School. She has served on the Governing Board for twelve years. She is a local business woman.

Mrs. Diane Junion, Governing Board Member
Mrs. Diane Junion is another former graduate from Safford High School. She has served eight years on the Governing Board. She is the Executive Secretary/HR and Benefits Administrator at Graham County Electric Coop., Inc.

Dr. Richard Lines, Governing Board Member
Dr. Lines served previously on the Governing Board for twelve years. He has currently served for another ten years. He also is a graduate of Safford High School. Dr. Lines is an orthodontist.

Mrs. Shirley Turner Chaplin, Governing Board Member
Mrs. Shirley Turner Chaplin is also a former graduate of Safford High School. She has worked for Arizona Department of Corrections for seventeen years. Currently she is a Parole Officer, a position which she has held for the last three years. Mrs. Turner Chaplin begins her first term on the Governing Board on January 1, 2013.
